Fill in Friday #18

Sorry for the double post today ... here are my answers for Wife of a Sailor's Fill in Friday questions :)

Are you a night owl or an early bird?
LOL can I say both?! Being a Momma to a newborn kinda makes both out of you! But I am normally an early bird. I love sleep and am usually in bed by 10 and can pop right up with the rising sun most days.

What makes you jealous?
I get jealous of people that get married, buy a house, have kids, see them grow up, see them get married, and see their babies have babies all in the same house! Growing up I moved around so much that I was always jealous of kids that grew up and staid in the same house their whole lives. Now don't get me wrong, I am greatful for it, because I can adapt to anything now, but it's just one of the things that makes me a little jealous.

Have you started Christmas/holiday shopping yet? When will you finish? (There’s only 63 days left!)
Have I started shopping? No. Do I have list and ideas for everyone on what I will be getting them. Yes. I am a planner when it comes to big holidays like this :) Plus it gives me an idea of how much we will be spending so I can save a little each check. But I usually don't start shopping until Black Friday!

What would you have a personal chef make you tonight?
Can I just have one come and make me a whole bunch of sweets? I want a banana cake, creme brulee, cupcakes with all kinds of flavors, lemon bars ... I could totally keep going but I am making myself really hungry lol

Where was your first kiss?
OMGsh I remember my first kiss to a T. I was 8 living in Florida on Eglin AFB. I was spending the night with a friend named Bethany and we decided to sneak out and go hang out with my crush Robert L. We went to his house and jumped on his trampoline and then we were going to leave he grabbed me and kissed me. Now just as he did this a car drove by and to me it looked like a flash went off in the car, so I (being young) freaked out and swore that someone took a picture, I was going to end up in the news paper, my Dad was going to see it and I was going to get in so much trouble. Of course that didn't happen and I am even friends with Robert still lol

I know I have missed the past two :( Life has been kiiiiiinda busy since Little Man came into our lives, I am back and I am going to try to keep up again :) LOL ... anyways, here are my answers for Wife of a Sailor's Fill in Friday questions :)

1. What is the longest road trip you’ve ever taken?
That would be when we moved from Texas to Ohio! OMG I will never forget how long and awful that trip was ... not to mention POINTLESS! We only lived in Texas for two weeks before we decided to move back to Ohio, it was like a vacation ... A HORRIBLE, hot, pointless vacation! (*okay rant over sorry about that lol*)

2. Do you collect anything? Tell us a bit about it.
I don't really collect anything ... Wait I take that back, I collect moments in time :) You see when I am not being a Mommy/Housewife I actually own a photography business :) and you know what I looove collecting these moment for my clients and sharing them with the world! 3. What is your favorite part about being an adult?
Having kids! I love my babies so so much, but I would not of wanted them any earlier in life then I did. I had Little Miss a month before I turned 22 and trust me I had partied enough and was ready to settle down! She forced me to "grow-up" and I am very thankful for that :)

4. What song brings a tear to your eye?
Right now ... "If He's Anything Like Me" - Brad Paisley. It's such a sweet song to a son from a father and it just makes me think of Hunk and Little man<3

5. Describe your first plane ride (how old you were, where you were heading, etc).
I was in the 5th grade and our class went on a school trip from Ohio to Washington, DC for a week. I honestly don't remember anything about the plane ride at all! I just know that we flew and that was my first plane ride ... I wish I could remember more about it lol

Here are my answers for Wife of a Sailor's Fill in Friday questions :)

1.What is a weird/funny superstition that you have?
I will not walk on man holes/drains. I am always scared that they are going to fall when I step on them and I will be stuck. I am EXTREMELY claustrophobic. My heart is racing right now just thinking about being stuck in a tight space ...

2.What are your hopes and dreams for the years AFTER the military? After all, we aren’t in it forever!
We want to retire to Virgina!! I love it there and I want a big house with a big wrap around porch with a huge back yard that all the grand babies can come and run around in for the holidays and summers. I would love to travel some to and see some things that I have always wanted to see, like Greece, but Hunk isn't for that quiet yet. I still have some convincing to do ;)

3.Since [this] month is National Apple Month (no really!), I’d probably ask: What is your yummiest apple recipe?
I am not much of an apple lover... So sadly I do not have one :(

4.How long have you gone as a military spouse without talking to your husband/wife during service?
THANKFULLY only about a week and it was when he was in SERE training.

5.I occasionally watch When I was 17… on MTV. So, what was something that was significant about your 17th year of life?
Oh geeze I was living in Wilmington, Ohio, a Sophomore in high school, working at Wendy's, in color guard dating a loooooooser... actually a lott'a losers lol.

Here are my answers for Wife of a Sailor's Fill in Friday questions :)

1.What secret indulgence do you act on while your spouse is away?
OMG shopping! We get into a lot of fights (unfortunately) when he is gone b.c I don't like sitting in the house and feeling blue when he is gone, so I will go up to Target and buy things that we don't really need, but they make me happy lol.

2.If you were a spice, what would you be?
Red Pepper! Being a Raging Cajun and all ;) Red pepper is a staple in all Cajun cookin' ... It tricks you and makes you think it's not too spicy and then BAM!!! Plus it's red like me haha

3.Where do you go for support when your significant other is deployed?
OMGsh any where and every where!!! We have (thankfully) only been though one so far and I was was a WRECK the first two weeks. The Airman Family Readiness Center was a HUGE help in getting me in touch with other wives going though deployments, I had my very best friend that lived two blocks from my house & my family was AMAZING! I feel like you should NEVER pass up help or even a ear to talk to when you are going though deployments. They suck!

4.What is the oldest thing you own?
My Great Great Great Grandma's rocking chair! My Dad's Momma gave it to me when I had Little Miss :) It's been passed down in our family for generations and I plan on giving it to Little Miss when she has her first baby.

5.How did you vision your future pre-military?
haha, funny story. I grew up an Air Force brat and was DEAD SET on NOT marrying a military man!!! I tried dating civilians and feel head-over-heals for a chef that ripped my heart out like it was nothing ... I then gave up on dating period after that. Then I met Hunk... He was in Tech School when we met, training to work on the plane my Dad flew on and now he has cross trained and does the EXACT SAME JOB my Dad did ... So I kinda really did grow up and marry someone JUST like my Dad.

Here are my answers for Wife of a Sailor's Fill in Friday questions :)

1.If you could be a fugitive from the law for whatever reason, what would your crime be?
I would kidnap my husband, causing him to go AWOL, and go on a MUCH needed get away just the two of us to a tropical island getaway where there would only be us, a house with a huge beautiful bed & a kitchen, then a chef to cook for us whatever we wanted when we wanted it.

2.How long do you think you will be a military family?
We want to be in the full 20. I grew up a military brat, so this lifestyle is really the only thing I know. I love being a military family!

3.What’s your favorite recipe?
Oh hands down my hubby's Korean short ribs! I loooooooove when he makes them, and I would give the recipe away but he doesn't tell a lot of people. It's a secret and honestly I don't 100% know what is in it. But it is DELICIOUS and if you have never had'em I suggest you try some sometime!

4.What would you want your last five words to be when you leave this life?
Woah this is a deep one -- "I had an AMAZING life." I would want everyone to know that I loved my life and didn't regret anything.

5.Where do you hope to retire?
Virginia!!!!!!! My hubby grew up there and took me there when he got back from his first deployment. I fell in LOVE with the area!! It is SO beautiful there. I cannot wait to grow old and grey there with my hubby and have our grand kids running around int he back yard :)

Here are my answers for Wife of a Sailor's Fill in Friday questions :)

1.What is ONE thing you’d like civilians to understand about being a military family?
How hard it is to REALLY be away from your loved ones. It drives me insane when I see my civilian friends saying how much they miss their man when he just walked out the door to go to work and will be home later that night ... UGH! That is such a soap box for me that I would get on a rampage about lol.

2.What is your favorite mistake?
Hands down the weekend of Oct. 20th 2006. It was the first weekend Dan and I got to spend alone. My Dad and Step Mom had a wedding to go to and I couldn't get out of work for it. So Hunk had the great idea of coming over all weekend and "Playing House." Well us "playing house" let to a BFP about two months later ... And nine months later we got Little Miss :) And she is the best "mistake" that has EVER happened to me!!

3.What indulgence could you give up for a year?
Chocolate. I am not a HUGE fan of it like most people so I think that's the one thing that would be easiest thing for me to give up -- haha.

4.If you could be a winged animal, what would you be?
Flamingo :) They are my favorite animal!!!

5.What is one question you’d like to see asked in a future MFF?
What is your favorite thing to make for dinner? I would love to see what other people like to cook so that it gives me ideas for new things to try out :)

Here are my answers for Wife of a Sailor's Fill in Friday questions :)

1.What is something you wished you’d learned to do earlier in life?
Manage my own money. That was the biggest stress in the beginning of my marriage. I was still in the mind set of "oh if it's in the bank account I can spend it." b.c I had never lived on my own before I got married so I never knew about balancing and saving money. It's better now, but I wish I would have learned earlier b.c it would have stopped a loooooot of fights!

2.What is your biggest pet peeve with the military?
HA! Where do I start ... no, I am kidding. I mean I hate to see men and women taken away for important moments in their families/kids lives and I hate that you have to live without your loved one while they are off fighting for their country.

3.What tourist attraction near you have you never seen?
OMGsh TONS. We just moved to this area last Oct. and I have been pregnant pretty much the entire time we have been here so I haven't gotten too do a whole lot. One thing that I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to do is go to Savannah! Which I am planning on in like Oct. when it isn't hotter then hell outside!

4.What are you avoiding doing right now?
Dishes in the sink, laundry in the washer AND dryer, sweeping the floors ... yea there is a lot ... but hey I am 9 months pregnant so I have all the right reasons to sit here and fill this out ;)

5.Wine, beer or liquor?
Oh I am SUCH a Wine-O ... You have no idea how excited I am to be able to have a nice BIG glass of Moscato and take a nice looooooooong soak in my tub. I HATE beer ... HAAAAAAAAAAAATE it. And I loooooooove Three-O Vodka ... yuuuuuuum!

Here are my answers for Wife of a Sailor's Fill in Friday questions :)

1.What is your spouse’s best feature?
Oh my gosh defiantly the sexy cocky cute smile he gets and tries to hide. When I do something stupid or prove him wrong at something he gets this little smile that just makes me melt! Just thinking about it right now makes me get butterflies in my belly.

2.Mild, Medium or Hot sauce?
Mild for sure. I am not really a fan of "hot sauce". I was born in Louisiana so I am a Tabasco sauce kinda girl :)

3.What is the worst uniform you had to wear for a job?
Any uniform you have to wear to a fast food restaurant is the worst!! Always overly cheesy and never made to deal with the heat or all the running around you have to do. Ugh - I hated working fast food ... Can you tell?

4.You have invisible powers… where is the first place you would go?
Hummm this a tough one... I think I would just follow my husband around and mess with him. Make things fall around him, open and close doors, throw things at him ... I think I could have a lot of fun if I did that!! hehe

5.What’s left on your “to do” list for this summer?
Number 1 on my to do list is pop a kid out and I cannot tell you how ready I am for this baby to come. The heat is ridiculous and I am sick of being swollen and sweaty! So yea, that's the main thing that I have left on my "to do" list.

Here are my answers for Wife of a Sailor's Fill in Friday questions :)

1.Besides the horizontal mambo, what do you miss most when your spouse is deployed?
I miss hearing the door open at 3:30 every day and hearing Little Miss get excited and run to the door screaming "Daddy!!", I miss just sitting on the couch and cuddling watching our fav. shows together, I miss his cute little smile that he gets and tries to hide, I miss his smell, I miss him leaving clothes on the floor, I miss our weekly trips to Target, I miss him telling me how good my cooking is ... I miss EVERYTHING when he is gone!

2.What do you miss least?
Nothing!! I even miss all the annoying things that he does when he is gone. Like his alarm going off every morning, fighting over keeping the TV off when we go to bed at night, him playing PS3 all till the sun comes up on the weekends... There is really NOTHING that I do not miss when he is gone, b.c that is what makes him, him and I just want him here with me!

3.You only get three crayons to finish your picture… which three do you choose and why?
Brown, green and blue ... Because I would draw a big pretty tree and a bright blue sky with clouds :) That picture would make me HAPPY, haha

4.If you could have your own fragrance, what would it be called?
OMGoodness this is a hard one ... Spring Breeze and it would smell like freshly bloomed Cherry Blossom trees!

5.If the shoes make the man (or woman), what do your shoes say about you right now?
Well right now I am bare foot so I guess it says that I don't care too much about shoes? If I could be bare foot the rest of my life I would be happy :) But the outside world is NASTY so when I do got out I wear VERY comfy shoes, but they are off the second I am back inside my house lol.
